This is a fabulous French Art Deco vase utilizing the technique known as Dinanderie. It is a process of using enamel paint on metal in the Dinanderie style (a French technique used on vases and decorative objects). This stylized art deco shape is 14 inches tall by 9 inches; wide with a strong geometric point of view and signed George on the vase and also signed on the bottom.

Other examples are small paintings by Freddy Wittop, a contemporary of Erte and famed creator of costumes from Follies Bergere to Broadway.

At Art Deco Collection we offer large mirrors framed in gilded wood, chrome, nickel, wood and French wrought iron (fer forge). We currently have a wonderful reverse painted and etched mirror with a tropical motif. Hall trees and consoles topped with mirrors are another of our specialties.

The deco era is especially famed for wrought iron, the French term is fer forge. Edgar Brandt is the most celebrated artist for this type of work and we carry his lamps, decorative objects and mirrors. Often such work is unsigned by the maker, but also done with a distinctive style that reflects the Brandt tradition. Radiator grills and covers made of metalwork are popular as consoles today. We also have beautiful silver, bronze and copper pieces. German WMF examples that have an Art Nouveau influence and elegant pieces from Cristofle are featured in this section.

Nudes are a popular subject matter, and we have many fine oil paintings from the period. Currently, we are featuring a series by Claude Lacaze in the French Cubist tradition. While some pieces are unsigned, or are by artists about whom little is known, we also offer documented works by such artists as Irving Sinclair, Ronget, Karl Baumann, Chabrier, Jacques Dupont.
